HEY EVERYBODY! COME AND WATCH ME TALK ABOUT MYSELF SOME MORE!!

David Erickson, blogger, Twitterer, and stand-up guy, asked me to do an interview for his blog series “Get To Know a Minnesota Blogger.” I had a really fun time – as you can tell from the length of the interview, he’s very easy to talk to – and I did not humiliate myself as much I thought I would. So. I am hereby giving you and the general public permission to watch it.

Amber Carter Interview, Part 1

Amber Carter Interview, Part 2

I’ll embed the videos for posperity’s sake (i.e., so you can watch them over and over on those long, lonely, late nights like you do with the video I posted about how much I hate the Hold Steady), but I don’t want to do so until you’ve had the opportunity to make the journey over to David’s blog to check out his other interviews and content (psst – there’s also an interview of this guy). So check it. And then come back here and post a bunch of comments about how awesome I am and stuff.

Will you be having any contests or giveaways where readers could win a free copy of your book?

Amber9:27 PM, June 17, 2010
No, Kevin, because free giveaways do not make one rich.
Now, we could maybe discuss one of those deals where, if you get 20 of your friends to buy the book, you get your copy free? I can be generous that way? Does that work?
Or, you organize a reading where at least 15 people show up and you get a free copy? That’s creative.

I’d rather just pay for one that have to work for a free one.

Thought so.

This is super charming. Love “a ridiculous one.” And the advice on writing what you know / sticking to your own style and voice. Good stuff AC!

It’s true, everyone; Amber is totally awesome! It was a very fun interview (and has proven to be a very popular one) so I’m happy she consented to my grilling.
