Write Stuff

J.Lo and I do not have a lot in common, actually

I don’t really have a lot to talk about this week…it’s been a very chill, relaxing week of solidifying upcoming goals, organizing stuff for my next writing project, waiting for my next TGT work project to kick off, watching old movies, hanging out on the balcony with Ainsley, and getting in some quality friend hangs. Which has all been very awesome! But not exactly riveting stuff to write about!

I also know I told you last week that I would share more about my goal/manifestation list, but I’m not done with it yet, so there’s nothing really to share yet.

So…let’s just keep it short and sweet this week, yeah?

Check out this video of a ghost that was caught on video when Sonique was doing a Live:

JoJo Siwa’s release party and publicity tour for her new single “Karma” has been FEEDING US this week:

On Sunday I watched two HORRIBLE movies that you should go and watch IMMEDIATELY.

The first was Basil (Tubi), starring Claire Forlani, Christian Slater, and a young Jared Leto.

The second was The Aspern Papers (Tubi), staring Jonathan Rhys Meyers, Vanessa Redgrave, and Joey Richardson (Vanessa’s real-life daughter).

Talk about a couple of STINKEROONIES. I remember seeing Basil in my local Mr. Movies when it first came out, because it had everything I loved…it was a period piece and it had Christian Slater in it! I don’t remember why I didn’t rent it at the time, but somebody must’ve have thought my youth was too precious to waste, because my god. Talk about ACTINGGGG!!!!

Claire Forlani is literally the only one who manages to do anything decent with the shitty material she’s given (I mean, Slater isn’t bad in it either, but all he had to do was take his shirt off and I was like, “Wow, he’s so talented…”), which means that we never really ever deserved her.

The Aspern Papers actually starts off REALLY strong with an opening scene that gets you SO excited to see what this movie is about to deliver… and then the rest of the movie is spent with three of the most boring characters you’ve ever encountered in a motion picture production. Instead of being charming and effusive like the character from the book, Rhys Meyers spends his time on screen affecting the flattest American accent I’ve ever heard in my life and saying his lines as if this were 6th grade English class and the teacher was making him read aloud from his textbook.

And then, the exciting and steamy story that the beginning scene set up ends up being a COMPLETE NOTHINGBURGER. I was so angry. What a waste of my fucking time. I can’t wait to watch it again with my crew of friends so we can make fun of it together!

Everybody hates J.Lo now! TikTok is a-buzz with stories of J.Lo’s bad behavior when it comes to service workers, fans, and entertainment establishments.

To be honest, I’ve known about this stuff for a while: There used to be an IG account for private plane flight attendants to share stories and career advice that I followed (listen, I’ve got lobster cages set all over the internet), and the stories that came in to that account about bad experiences with J.Lo became such a common occurrence that the account owner had to make a whole J.Lo highlight. Almost all of them shared the same themes: No one is allowed to look her in the eye; she either doesn’t tip or only tips 8%; and back when she was flying with A-Rod, she would only allow male flight attendants on the plane, even when it was somebody else’s plane.

So anyway - I know I’ve stood up for her and her documentary both publicly and personally this past month, and I still stand by the fact that if she put out a documentary every year that was just someone filming her everyday life, I would watch every single one.

But this is also a good example of how we can hold multiple truths, and also how my opinion of someone can change with the wind. Do I find her fascinating as a person and as an entertainer? Yes! Do also I think she’s a huge bitch when it comes to her demands and treatment of service people and the help? Also YES!

World Central Kitchen is supporting the families of the WCK humanitarian workers who were murdered by the IDF on April 1st through a Memoriam fund that goes directly to those workers’ loved ones.

Also, fun note - did you know that if you screenshot something on IG (like a link that someone put in the caption), you can copy and paste the text from the screenshot? I just learned that!

Anyway, that’s it from me this week!
